Training our Appraisals

With eternity in our hearts,
Do we say we haven't the time
For the one thing necessary?

With all tomorrows predestined,
Do we inhabit them prematurely
Where God has already worked?

With Wisdom's Spirit within,
Do we say we can't commence
Until our mind's wanderings are complete?

With a peace that surpasses,
Do we say we can't remain
In turmoil beyond understanding?

With a delightful inheritance,
Do we say we can't release
Our funds from pleasant boundaries?

With the Maker's life in us,
Do we say we haven't the bread
To offer for multiplication?

With paralyses healed,
Do we shrink from the sick
Cured only by his words?

With "This is my son" said,
Do we strive to add to it
Thinking pleasing our burden?

With the cattle on a thousand hills,
Do we say we haven't enough
In our barns built aplenty?

With eyes upon our limits
We say rightly.
Therefore, let us train
Our measuring appraisals
To gaze on his abundant riches.
Then we might
Sincerely say
I have enough,
I am enough,
My freedom is his.
